Place of Reflection: Launch of YourSay Consultation

21 November 2022

A place of reflection was a recommendation in 2020 by the independent Mr Fluffy Community and Expert Reference Group, an advisory body to the now closed Asbestos Response Taskforce, after consultation with Mr Fluffy homeowners as part of a Legacy project.

A place of reflection is seen as an important part of the healing process for thousands of Canberrans across the ACT who owned, lived or worked in a Mr Fluffy home, or whose streets and neighbourhoods were forever changed as a result of the actions taken to eradicate this dangerous substance from our community.

The place of reflection will take the form of a forest shelter at the National Arboretum Canberra The forest shelter provides a physical space where people have an opportunity to reflect and engage with educative information on the scale and significant impact loose fill asbestos insulation has had on the Canberra community through a digital platform.

The ACT Government is seeking community input and would appreciate your feedback on the proposed reflective and educative themes that will be accessible through a QR code at the forest shelter.

For further information we encourage you to visit the 'Mr Fluffy' Place of Reflection page on the YourSay ACT  website.
