Sale to ACT Government agencies

Remediated blocks not sold through the First Right of Refusal (FROR) process, or not eligible for FROR, are offered for sale to ACT Government agencies who have identified a potential business need for remediated blocks. This provides an opportunity for other government agencies to acquire suitable properties outside of a public sales process, that may meet the requirements of other government initiatives.

Sale price

The sale price for all remediated blocks, including blocks sold to government agencies, is determined by the Suburban Land Agency based on independent market valuations through independent property valuers.

Blocks will not be sold to government agencies, or to the public, for less than the price originally offered to the former homeowner who held a FROR on their surrendered block.

Unsold blocks

Blocks offered to an ACT Government agency that remain unsold, are then programmed for sale to the public via a competitive process, such as an auction.

Blocks that fail to sell via a competitive process then become available for sale to the public Over the Counter with a disclosed sale price.

The Territory reserves the right to pursue alternate sales approaches considered appropriate for individual properties, from time to time.
